Professional screenplay evaluations for screenwriters
seeking informed feedback.

Thorough, objective script analysis.
I have been commissioned to help develop a TV drama series, so please call or email me for my availability.

When available, I offer two screenplay evaluation options. I can also serve as a "Pre-Writing Coach."

Both evaluations examine concept, characterization, dialogue, structure, plotting, conflict, theme,
formatting, and more.

The written analysis and commentary examine the quality and effectiveness of the screenplay and discuss
its main strengths and any weaknesses.

The 5-page "presentational checklist" covers page layout, printing, formatting, spelling-typos-punctuation, title
page, etc.

STANDARD EVALUATION -- $1,000

... provides 15 pages of feedback plus on-script notes, a tape, and a phone consultation:

* 10 pages of written analysis and commentary + a 5-page presentational checklist.

* On-script notes, with an accompanying audio tape (usually 60-90 minutes, to elaborate on the on-script notes)

* 60-minute phone discussion

* Supplementary articles addressing areas of weakness, if any (structure, character, theme, exposition,
formatting, etc.)

ADVANCED EVALUATION -- $2,000

... provides 30 pages of feedback plus on-script notes, a tape, and extended phone consultation:

* 15 pages of written commentary + a 5-page presentational checklist. And:

* An additional 10 pages: a detailed structural analysis and comparison to the Hollywood Structure Template.

* On-script notes, with an accompanying audio tape (usually 60-90 minutes, to elaborate on the on-script notes)

* Supplementary articles addressing areas of weakness, if any (structure, character, theme, exposition,
formatting, etc.)

* Phone discussion of up to 3 hours

The phone discussion allows you to ask any questions regarding anything mentioned in the on-script notes, tape,
or written evaluation, and to discuss any points that you choose to bring up. This may be broken up into two or three
sessions, at the writer's request.

PRE-WRITING COACH -- $750

For those who want to use my services as a kind of guide prior to writing a script -- and especially for those
embarking on their first or second script ...

I have an e-guidebook entitled "Guide to Screenplay Structure" which describes and gives many examples of
commercial, Hollywood-style screenplay structure, both in terms of the broad (3-act) outline but also many specifics ...
things that aren't covered in any of the books on the market.

It also discusses several methods of outlining, the number of events to aim for, etc.

I offer that as part of a package: the 45-page guidebook, plus two hours of phone discussion (one long call, or
two-to-four shorter calls) where I evaluate your concept for commercial and dramatic viability, and then we discuss
the best approach for developing your story. You can ask me any questions concerning material in the guidebook, and
we can do some brainstorming together in terms of developing dimensional and well-orchestrated characters, what
your End of Act 1 might be, clarifying your theme, etc.

That would be for $750 (the guidebook plus the two hours of phone discussion/s). (Payment in advance
via PayPal or personal check).

If you decide to outline your screenplay and then make a treatment prior to writing the first draft, for another
$250 I would read your 1-page synopsis, your 4-6 page event outline, and up to a 10-page treatment (what these
consist of will be discussed), and I'd provide some written evaluation and we could have another one-hour discussion
based on that feedback.

By then, you'd be ready to write your script.
